As a church, our mission is to treasure Christ above all and help others do the same.
We recognize the need to expand our outreach efforts beyond Toccoa, so we extend our ministry outside of Toccoa and Stephens County by going on mission trips, supporting international missionaries, and more. We also partner with international organizations like Rise Against Hunger and Samaritan's Purse (Operation Christmas Child) to provide food, toys, Christian literature, and basic necessities to those living in poverty around the world.

On February 15, 2026, Rev. Atkins asked the congregation to raise money for the
Nigerian cause, where thousands of Christians are murdered because of their faith. Auctioneer Daren Smith appeared at both services. Over $13,000 was raised as members of the congregation outbid one another, or made private pledges. (Nothing was sold, only given, to aid the Nigerians, and the Glory of God.)

Service and outreach are at the heart of Toccoa First's mission to treasure Christ above all and help others do the same. In addition to partnering with several local organizations, there are other ways in which we serve our community. Our Serve Team builds ramps and does other home repairs for individuals in need. Along with the work of our Serve Team, our church participates in other forms of community outreach, including holding school supply, coat, and food drives, giving out free water or food at local events, providing meals for the National Guard, teachers, or other individuals, volunteering, and holding community events like Back to School Bash, Baccalaureate, Holy Week Services, Journey to Bethlehem, and more.

The PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY meets weekly in McNeely Hall to create comforting shawls, lap robes, scarves and other items needed or requested for people in hospital and convalescent facilities, an in recovery from surgeries and illness. Each item is prayed over at least four times, covering the item with love for the recipient.

We partner with several organizations in our community to expand our efforts to help those in need. Some organizations that we have partnered with include Neighbors 4 Neighbors, Toccoa Life Pregnancy Resource Center, Open Arms Clinic, Shepherd's Hill Academy, New Beginnings Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, and the Salvation Army. We also sponsor Boy Scout Troop 77.
